WSCC - New Pitstop update for Road Atlanta

As an Endurance, Multi-Class Racing league, we always want to deepen the realism and immersion that comes with the sport. In real life, pitstop strategy plays a key role in the race to the chequered flag. Different tyres compounds carry different opportunities. At Le Mans, Audi triple stinted their tyres to beat Peugeout to the flag by just a few seconds. So, naturally we want to have this type of racing in our events and championships. 

 

Those of you that have been with CFEG for some time know that we have been working hard to implement a small change to the pitstops. We want to change the current system so that Fuel and Tyres are done SEPERATELY, now this may sound like a small change, but the implications and different tactics it brings onto the field is massive.

 

Teams will now have to decide whether or not to double stint tyres, or spend more time in the pit lane exchanging the softer, faster but less durable compound. This opens up far more approaches to the races and it will keep all the teams on their toes as it wont be a straight forward change and sprint every hour.

 

The new change has been thoroughly tested on all vehicles, all working successfully under different conditions. However, if you find an error or issue with this new change please contact an admin on the discord channel.

 

The details of the changes are as follows:

 

-GTE class pitstops should now take around 59-62 seconds depending which car is being driven.

-LMP2 class pitstops should now take around 48 seconds.

 

BMW M8 GTE

-Tyres and fuel are not concurrent

-Driver changes are concurrent only with FUEL(If there is a pitstop where tyres are only changed you won't be able to do the driver change at the same time. However this scenario is less likely to happen as you need fuel to finish the race)

-Driver change takes 20 seconds

-Full tyre change takes around 25 seconds

 

Corvette C7.R GTE

-Tyres and fuel are not concurrent

-Driver changes are concurrent only with FUEL

-Driver change takes 20 seconds

-Full tyre change takes around 25 seconds

 

Porsche 911 RSR GTE

-Tyres and fuel are not concurrent

-Driver changes are concurrent only with FUEL

-Driver change takes 20 seconds

-Full tyre change takes around 25 seconds

 

Oreca 07 LMP2

-Tyres and fuel are not concurrent

-Driver changes are concurrent only with FUEL(If there is a pitstop where tyres are only changed you won't be able to do the driver change at the same time. However this scenario is less likely to happen as you need fuel to finish the race)

-Driver change takes 20 seconds

-Full tyre change takes around 26 seconds

 

GTE BoP

-Corvette C7.R GTE now has the shortest pitstops of total 59 seconds (Full tyres+fuel)
